Karen Y. Chan (b. New York, NY) is a poet and interdisciplinary artist interested in giving form to what often defies it: uncertainty, pain, longing, the precariousness in relationships. She is currently an MFA candidate in Creative Writing, Poetry, at Hunter College.
Her work has been presented at Untitled Art, Queens Museum, Pratt Institute, BronxArtSpace, TuTu Gallery, MITU580, Ed. Varie, AC Institute, Flushing Town Hall, Jamaica Center for the Arts and Learning, Local Project, Roman Susan, Vox Populi, Klaus Center for the Arts, Alexander Calder Fine Arts Center, Rochester Contemporary Art Center, and others.
She was artist-in-residence at Asian American Arts Alliance, The Studios at MASS MoCA, Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Alberta, Canada, and Transart Institute in Berlin, Germany. She holds an MA in Media Studies from The New School and a BA in Journalism from New York University.
